First off, couple friends and I decided to try the fried chicken that I have seen tables order. The order of fried chicken looked very sad when it arrived. Exactly 5 pieces of chicken, some smaller than others served with a slice of lemon. I have to say I was very disappointed with this appetizer. The skin of the chicken was not crispy and tasted like something I could of seasoned at home by myself. Word of advice, skip this and go straight to the ramen.

After loving the Tonkotsu Ramen so much last time, I decided to try the Miso Ramen. The miso soup was yellow in color and was saltier than the Tonkotsu. The toppings on the ramen included, pork belly, corn, bean sprout, soft broiled egg and topped with green onion. I did not enjoy this ramen as much as Tonkotsu. The soup was nothing fancy and just tasted like miso. To be honest, I felt the quality of the ramen has slightly deteriorated since my visit last week. I felt the pork should this time was not as well seasoned. In the end, it was still an enjoyable bowl of ramen but next time, I think I will stick to my Tonkotsu.

I hear that Sansotei has the best broth in town, but unfortunately not the best ramen.
ReplyDeleteI'm still waiting for that oh-my-heavens transcendent ramen experience -- hopefully a resto comes along and can finally put 1 & 2 together. I hear momofuku's was pretty meh.
I agree that Sansotei has the best broth. Maybe someone should just combine Sansotei's borth with Kinton's noodle! hahahaha~
